(St. Leon, IN) – Clay Muncy has been named boys’ varsity soccer coach at East Central High School.
Muncy takes over for B.J. Black, who stepped down last month after guiding the Trojans for 22 seasons.
Black compiled a career record of 446 wins, 84 losses and 28 ties; one state runner-up during the 2004 season when the tournament was single class; seven regional championships, and 18 sectional titles.
Muncy is one of Black’s former players and spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach.
“I am thrilled to accept the position of men’s soccer coach and excited to contribute to a team that has thrived for many years. I am committed to fostering an environment where athletes not only excel on the field but in life. I believe in instilling core values of integrity, responsibility, sportsmanship, and hard work is the foundation for both individual success and team success. My goal is to inspire players to push themselves to be their best, both in athletics and as individuals,” Muncy wrote on social media.
