Mavis M. (Prince) Cross, 75, of Brookville, was born in Middletown, Ohio on April 27, 1949 to Melvin Sr. and Edna Prince. She was a Ross High School graduate. In January 1968, she married the love of her life Danny R. Cross. They shared 53 years together before his passing in 2021.
In life, she loved her family especially her grandchildren that brought so much joy. Her weekends were often spent with them along with summer break. She loved her church family. She was a very devoted and dedicated pastor’s wife and she took her role very seriously. Her prayer and her faith were felt by many. She was a true inspiration. Her example should be one others could follow.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Danny (Tracie) Cross; daughter, Alena (Patrick) Hendrix; adopted daughter, Shirley Steele; grandchildren: Justin (Abi) Cross, Jeremy (Courtney) Cross, Jordan Cross, Hannah (T.J.) Ohmer; great grandchildren: Aubrey, Greyson, Easton, Braelynn, Harper, Berkley; bonus great grandchildren: Alyssa and Hazel; also her brothers: Mike (Jay) Prince and Randall Prince.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband, Danny; her parents; brothers: Melvin Prince Jr. and Jerry Prince.
The family would like to give a special thank you to brother-in-law Loyd Morgan Jr. He has been there through the toughest times and helped in many ways. We are forever grateful. Special thanks for many years of friendship, love, and sisterhood- Shirley Pelfrey, Margaret Butler, Susie Hicks, Susie Mathews, Dorothy Quinn, Diana Bays and Vickie Mofield.
She will be missed by many family and friends. She was truly an amazing woman- a woman of God.
