Marilyn K. Courtney, 79, of Lawrenceburg, IN, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Marilyn was born on January 14, 1946, in Aurora, IN, to the late William and Evelyn (Fischer) Landwehr.
She held various administrative roles at Dearborn County Hospital, the IRS, Quality Property Management, Terrace View Health Care Center and Pine Knoll Assisted Living Center.
A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Greendale, Marilyn also served as treasurer and was involved in numerous church activities. In addition to her church service, she enjoyed participating in a Canasta Card Club and loved spending time with her many friends and family. She was known for her wit and pranks that she passed along to both of her children and grandson. Marilyn also cherished the moments spent gathering with friends and also her classmates from the Class of 1964.
Marilyn was a devoted volunteer with the Dearborn County Hospital Auxiliary and previously served as treasurer. She also offered her time and talents as a board member for the Pregnancy Care Center in Lawrenceburg.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Duane (Trish) Courtney of Milton, KY, and Dawn (Chris) Duncan of Westfield, IN; sister, Deanna Rowe of Lawrenceburg, IN; and grandson, Derek (Emily) Courtney of Louisville, KY.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Courtney; parents, William and Evelyn Landwehr; and brother, Danny (Jackie) Landwehr and brother-in-law, Carl Rowe.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 45 Tebbs Av., Greendale, IN.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the church, with Tom Houston officiating.
Interment will follow at River View Cemetery in Aurora, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Greendale or the Pregnancy Care Center.
