In boys basketball sectional first round action heard last night on the Sports Voice, Oldenburg topped Rising Sun 58-48 at Class 1A Sectional 60 at Milan. The Twisters Henry Wanstrath led all scorers with 31 points. OA improves to 14-9 and will face the host Indians in tomorrow night’s second semifinal game. Milan outgunned Crothersville 92-81 in the nightcap of our doubleheader. Four Indians scored in double figures, led by Micah Norman’s 29 points. Teammate Gabe Riehle added 25, followed by John McKeown with 13 and Ethan Clark contributing 11. The Indians are now 11-12 heading into tomorrow night’s semi vs. OA.

At Class 1A Sectional 59 at Edinburgh, South Decatur eliminated Morristown 61-46. The Cougars are now 6-18 and will take on the host Lancers in tomorrow night’s second semifinal.

In 5th grade girls basketball last night, it was St. Louis over Laurel 15-11.

Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard yesterday announced his retirement from the NFL after seven seasons. The 29-year-old Cincinnati native and Ohio State product was selected by the Bengals in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Hubbard was voted a team captain in each of his final four seasons and played in 104 regular season games with a streak of 88 consecutive starts from 2019-24.

It was the Texas Rangers over the Reds 5-3 in Cactus League spring training action yesterday in Goodyear, Arizona. The Reds are off until tomorrow afternoon when they play the San Francisco Giants in Goodyear.

The Pacers begin a three-game road trip tonight in Atlanta against the Hawks. Airtime on the Sports Voice is 7:00.
