Ralph Ruggles, 88, of Milan passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. Ralph was born on Sunday, October 11, 1936, in Pierceville; son of Chris and Ola (Manley) Ruggles. Ralph married the love of his life, Ruth Ann (Molen) Ruggles, on July 6, 1957, and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2013. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Pierceville United Methodist Church. He owned his own farm, worked at Ripley County Recycling Center, and retired from Monsanto as a mechanic. He enjoyed spending his time farming, taking care of his flowers, and tending to his lawn. He enjoyed watching and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and IU Basketball. Most of all Ralph cherished spending time with his family.
Ralph will be missed by his children Debbie Montoya of Simi Valley, California, Roger (Tricia) Ruggles of Mission Viejo, California, and Jason (Suzi) Ruggles of Fortville, Indiana; grandchildren Kyle Montoya, Jake (Meg) Montoya, Greg (Kathy) Ruggles, Haley (Landen) Syke, Emma Ruggles, and Jase Ruggles; great-grandchildren Rowan Syke, Kennedy Ruggles, and Camille Ruggles; companion Alice Huffmeyer of Napoleon; friends and neighbors of 40 years, Doug and Marilyn Turner; and many cousins.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Chris and Ola Ruggles; wife Ruth Ann Ruggles; brothers Leroy, Newell, Herbert, and Earl Ruggles; sister Edith Eaglin; and son-in-law Pat Montoya.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Ralph from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Bible officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Milan American Legion Post #235. Burial will follow at Craven Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Ralph to the Pierceville United Methodist Church.
