(Batesville, IN) – The Southeastern Indiana YMCA proudly recognized the exceptional dedication of one of its staff members at the February Board of Directors meeting.

Amanda Brinson, a teacher at the YMCA Learning Center, was honored with the prestigious S.O.A.R. Award (Service and Outstanding Achievement Recognition) for her unwavering commitment to serving others and advancing the mission of the Y.

Brinson was nominated simultaneously by Amber Rossman, Youth Experience Director, Southeastern Indiana YMCA and McKenzie Callahan, YMCA Learning Center Childcare Director, who both praised her selfless dedication and willingness to go beyond expectations.

“From day one, Amanda has stepped up and gone beyond just doing a job—she has met a need,” said Rossman during the presentation. “She took on a role she didn’t originally plan for, stepping outside her comfort zone without hesitation, and gave it her all. Thanks to her dedication, we were able to open an additional school-age classroom, serving 15 more families. She has remained a steady, positive force through times of change, demonstrating flexibility and bringing her lighthearted energy every day. We are thrilled she will be with us for camp this summer. Amanda shows up, takes the lead, and makes a difference.”

Callahan echoed these sentiments, adding, “Amanda initially joined us as school-age staff, but when we needed an interim teacher for our three-year-old classroom, she embraced the role. She has been a wonderful asset, demonstrating incredible dedication to our Learning Center and the families we serve. She is a sweet soul who is more than deserving of the SOAR Award.”

The Southeastern Indiana YMCA extends its heartfelt congratulations to Brinson for her outstanding service and commitment to the Y’s mission. Her passion and dedication exemplify the core values of the YMCA, making a lasting impact on the children and families she serves.
