IHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving Sectionals hosted by East Central High School Trojans had
some fast swims.
Once again, Oldenburg Academy came out strong, placing 6th overall in a field of 14
schools. As one of the toughest swim sectionals in Indiana, two OA boys were able to swim
strong, and qualified for the Swimming State Finals at the IU natatorium on February 28-March 1.
Nash King, Sectional Champion in the 500 freestyle, is the first individual sectional champion since
2017. He placed 2nd and qualified in the 200 IM as well as extending the school record to
1:50.97.
Santiago Schutte placed 3rd in the 50 freestyle with not only a new school record of 21.63, but
his time led to qualification for the state finals. He also placed 2nd in the 100 freestyle with a
new school record of 47.7.
The boys 200 medley relay team placed 6th and extended the school record with a time of 1:43.88 (Nash
King, Santiago Schutte, Sully Hill, and Grant Rosenberger)

Nash King)
