(Lawrenceburg, IN) – Two men are in hot water after bullets struck a neighboring apartment in Lawrenceburg, narrowing missing a nine-year-old child.
Investigators say the incident took place on January 19 at Tuscany Bay Apartments.
Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens says the bullet tore through a closet and bedroom before entering a bathroom where a nine-year-old was doing chores.
The suspects, Ahmed Elnaggar and Mahrous Habib, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Police say they found an AR-15 rifle in Elnaggar’s apartment and spent shell casings matching the ammunition in his bedroom.
Investigators say Elnaggar initially claimed the gun went off accidentally while cleaning it, but later admitted to firing it, and Habib was seen disposing of a trash bag containing evidence, and the apartment leaseholder confirmed Elnaggar’s involvement in the shooting.
Elnaggar was charged with multiple counts of Criminal Recklessness and Obstruction of Justice, while Habib was charged with Obstruction of Justice.
