IHSAA girls basketball sectional play tips off tonight, and WRBI will bring you two games from Class 3A Sectional 29 at Lawrenceburg. Batesville takes on Franklin County, followed by 3A #1 Greensburg against the host Tigers. Coverage begins at 5:30 on 103.9 FM, wrbiradio.com and the WRBI app.

In other first round girls sectional games involving area teams tonight, North Decatur faces Edinburgh at the 1A sectional at Southwestern (Shelby), and at the 1A sectional at Hauser, Oldenburg takes on Rising Sun and Milan plays Crothersville.

South Ripley clobbered St. Louis 56-7 in girls 7th grade basketball last night.

North Decatur topped Oldenburg 46-33 in C team boys hoops. Henry Kinker led the Chargers with 14 points; teammate Harper Gunn added 12.

The Pacers came from behind and slid past the Utah Jazz 112-111 in a game heard last night on WRBI. All Star forward Paskal Siakam led the way for Indiana with 22 points. Four other Pacers also scored in double digits.  Indiana has won four straight. The road trip out west continues tonight in Portland against the Trailblazers. WRBI airtime is 9:30.

The Purdue Boilermakers move up three spots to #7 in this week’s AP Top 25 College Basketball poll. Auburn and Duke remain at one and two, respectively, followed by Alabama, Tennessee and Houston rounding out the top five.

Meanwhile, Purdue is back on the court tonight at Iowa. Tipoff is at 7:00.

The Indiana Hoosiers visit #21 Wisconsin tonight. They’ll tip things off in Madison at 9.

The Reds traded righthanded pitcher Casey Legumina to the Seattle Mariners for cash considerations. He was designated for assignment by Cincinnati on January 30.  Legumina came to the Reds from the Minnesota Twins in the November 2022 trade for infielder Kyle Farmer.
