Mark A. Chance, 80, of Dillsboro passed away at 8:20 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born in Indianapolis on December 22, 1944, the son of Ernest and Virginia Kirkham Chance. He was married to Linda Delay on February 14, 1971 and his wife of 53 years survives. Other survivors include two daughters Traci (Ryan) Bruns of Milan and Marka (John) Day of North Port, Florida; two sons E. Scott Webster and his companion Robin Kuhn of Greenfield and Christopher Todd Chance of Milan; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Roy Alan Chance, and his granddaughter Lindsey Webster. Mr. Chance was a 1963 graduate of Mays High School (Rush Co.). He spent his working career as an independent truck driver and also worked for David Green Construction in Versailles. Mark enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, and following the Bengals and the Colts. He was a former member of the Milan Lions Club. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3 at 12 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery at Mays. Visitation will also be on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Center Cemetery or the First Baptist Church of Milan in care of the funeral home.
