Class 2A #6 South Ripley downed Oldenburg Academy 61-40 in boys basketball heard last night on WRBI. The Raiders improve to 13-0 while the Twisters drop to 6-4. Cole Henry led all scorers with 21 points, while South Ripley teammates Drew Volz and Blaine Ward added 12 and 11, respectively. Henry Wanstrath led OA with 12 points; Adam Weber added 11.

Elsewhere, Batesville defeated Jac-Cen-Del 64-56, North Decatur topped South Decatur 56-42, and Milan knocked off Rising Sun 70-49.

Last night in girls’ basketball, Batesville defeated Indian Creek 42-21.  Jac-Cen-Del grounded Hauser 35-26. And it was Christian Academy over Milan 52-27 at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown.

We have a Saturday boys basketball split doubleheader on the Sports Voice. East Central goes to Franklin County this afternoon. Airtime will be around 1:15. And South Ripley entertains Switzerland County tonight. Coverage begins around 7:15.

Congratulations to Milan junior Kayla Roell, who won the 2025 IHSAA Girls State Wrestling Championship at 120 pounds. East Central senior Leighna Prater finished third in the state in her weight class in the inaugural girls finals at the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ Corteva Coliseum.

The Indiana Hoosiers went on the road and slid past Ohio State 77-76 in overtime. IU snaps a two-game losing streak and improves to 14-5 overall and 5-3 in the Big 10.

17th ranked Purdue finishes its trip out west this afternoon at Oregon. Tipoff is at 3.

The Pacers have won six of their last eight and look to keep it rolling tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers. Tipoff at Gainbridge Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m.

The divisional round of the NFL playoffs takes place this weekend. Coming up this afternoon, Houston is at Kansas City, followed by Washington at Detroit tonight. On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams are at Philadelphia, and Baltimore visits Buffalo.
