(Decatur County, IN) – When Indiana was hit hard by the opioid epidemic, so was Decatur County. Since then, Indiana, including Decatur County, has been doing its best to push back against the opioid epidemic.
The Indiana Attorney General’s Office has secured millions of dollars for Hoosiers through litigation involving several major drug manufacturers. As part of a settlement, each county has been awarded a set amount of funds to be used to help fight the local opioid epidemic.
Opioid Settlement Fund Grant applications for Decatur County are now open.
The local Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council (JRAC) has been tasked with administering applications from the community regarding both restricted and unrestricted Opioid Settlement Funds. JRAC will review all applications and make recommendations to the county commissioners. The commissioners will have the final say as to how the Opioid Settlement proceeds are distributed.
