Betty Lou Canada, age 78, of Versailles, Indiana, passed away surrounded by her family. Born on October 17, 1946, in Osgood, Indiana, she was the beloved daughter of Charlie and Beamont (Ewing) Wooley.
Betty loved her role as a devoted mother and homemaker. She also worked at U.S. Shoe for a few years and was especially proud to earn her GED in 1994. She married the love of her life, Alfred Canada, on March 9, 1963, and together they were blessed with five children: Alfred, Richard, Rachel, Carol, and Amy.
Betty enjoyed crocheting, playing games, reading, and faithfully keeping a daily journal. She was a fan of Western TV shows and cherished watching Christmas movies. Though she spent most of her life in Ripley County, Indiana, she also enjoyed 10 years living in Somerset, Kentucky.
Betty’s life was defined by her love for her family and the simple joys that brought happiness to her days. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by sons, Alfred Charles William Canada and Richard Wayne (Julia) Canada Sr., daughters Rachel Ruthanne Crowe and Carol (Shawn) McIntosh, brother Charles “Bud” (Sharon) Wooley, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and her puppy “FeeBee”
Visitation will be held on Friday December 27, 2024 from 11 am.-1 pm. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm., also at Neal’s, with burial following at Tanglewood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
