South Ripley Edges Out Batesville

The Batesville High School boys varsity basketball team fell just short in a nail-biter at home, losing 79-74 to the South Ripley Raiders.

The game was a back-and-forth battle, with the teams deadlocked at 23-23 after the first quarter. South Ripley pulled ahead by halftime, taking a seven-point lead into the locker room. However, the Bulldogs stormed back in the third quarter, outscoring the Raiders 17-10 to tie the game at 57-57 heading into the final frame.

Despite a strong effort, the Bulldogs couldn’t keep pace in the fourth quarter, falling just five points shy of a comeback victory.

Batesville had four players score in double figures. Brayden Maple led the way with 17 points, while Cade Kaiser chipped in 14 and added a team-high seven assists and eight rebounds. James Hughes contributed 13 points, and Trenten Luers rounded out the scoring with 12.
