Sterling Craig Galayda, 74, of Batesville passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at his home. He was born on July 15, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri as the son of Samuel and Lois (Bosch) Galayda.
Sterling was an outdoor enthusiast who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed cooking. Sterling was an animal lover and ran a reptile rescue, caring for animals in need. Above all, Sterling was a devoted family man, cherishing time spent with loved ones and sharing his passions with his family. Sterling married his wife, Alice Fierce and together they spent 28 years and 7 months building a life filled with love, adventure, and shared memories.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice; son, Perry (Jessica) Cassidy; daughter, Amanda (Andrew) Loosa; grandchildren: Gene and Emma; and many brothers and sisters.
Private military services will be held at a later date.
