John Curtis Tuttle, 85, Batesville

John Curtis Tuttle, 85, passed away peacefully at home with family beside him December 15, 2024. He was born October 22, 1939 in Allen County, Ohio to John Delbert and Mary J. (Yant) Tuttle.

Following graduation from Lafayette-Jackson High School in 1957, he studied mechanical and architectural design through correspondence at Chicago Technical Institute. His career as a draftsman, tool and machine design engineer began in Ohio in 1960. He retired from Hill-Rom in Batesville, IN in 2004.

He was generous with his time and resources assisting family and friends with designs and building projects. His volunteer services included Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, making thousands of wood cars for Operation Christmas Child. Following retirement he was employed as a courier for Margaret Mary Health, transporting patients home in the Tuttle Shuttle. He was a faithful volunteer at the First Baptist Church of Greensburg, as a deacon, assisting with GriefShare and Divorce Care groups. He was also a proud Buckeye fan to the dismay of many of his Indiana friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Moeller Tuttle; children: Todd (Traci) Tuttle of Englewood, OH; Kevin (Julie) of Lima, OH; Jerry Tuttle of West Lafayette, IN and step-daughter Amy Shideler (Angela Glassco) of University Heights, OH; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grand-children; siblings: Sharon Falk and Randy (Penny)Tuttle of Lima, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in the death were his parents; his first wife, Carol (Aldrich) Tuttle; sons: Bruce and Nathan; and his brother Bob Tuttle.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Greensburg First Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 11:00 am. A celebration of life will be scheduled for the spring in Lima, OH.
