Alan Ray Zapfe, 55, of Napoleon passed away Friday, December 13, 2024 at his home. He was born in Greensburg on August 28, 1969, the son of Raymond and Eileen Hughes Zapfe. Survivors include his father Raymond (Jessie) Zapfe Sr. of Millhousen; his daughter Heather Zapfe of Rising Sun; his companion Carmen Pickett; step-daughter Maggie (John) Hughes of Erlanger, Kentucky; grandchildren Auden Ashcraft, and Chance, Rowan, and Waylen Hughes; one brother Raymond Jr. (Carol) Zapfe of Westport; one sister Carol Ann (Freddie) Hobbs of Millhousen, and his niece Shelby Zapfe, along with many other nieces, nephews, and step-siblings. He was preceded in death by his mother. Mr. Zapfe worked for 30 years as an equipment operator for Napoleon Hardwood. Alan loved spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included his gun collection, classic cars (especially his Mopars) and also his Harley Davidsons. Alan was a member of the Osgood Sons of the American Legion. A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at a later date at the Osgood American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Legion in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
