Clayton Eugene Stevens, 77, of Moores Hill, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in Green Township, Ohio.
He was born on July 5, 1947, in Milan, Indiana, to the late Clayton Roy Stevens and Mary (Luke) Stevens.
Clayton spent his professional career as a Machine Tool Operator, working for Cincinnati Incorporated for over 29 years. Prior to that, he worked at Seagram’s, LeBond Machine Tool Company, and as a farmer where he worked with tobacco and hay. He was also very active in 4-H, raising as many as 400 rabbits, including American Chinchilla rabbits. Additionally, Clayton enjoyed bird hunting and owned a Brittany bird dog, a breed known for its skill in the field.
He was a dedicated family man, survived by his loving spouse of many years, Gertrude (Schwanholt) Stevens; his son, Clayton Patrick Stevens; daughter, Heather Renee (Tim) Sides of Versailles, Indiana; two step-sons, Steven Vogeler of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and Kevin Vogeler of Greensburg, Indiana; step-daughter, Cheryl Schwier of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; and his sister, Kathleen Holland of Bay City, Texas. Clayton also leaves behind grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Miller of Kentucky, Baydon Sides, Bree Anna Sides and Brooke Sides. Two great-grandchildren Noah Miller and Madelyn Miller.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Roy Stevens, and his mother, Mary L. (Luke) Stevens.
Friends will be received at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home 219 Mechanic Street Aurora, Indiana 47001 on Monday December 16, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at 1:00 P.M.and will be officiated by a pastor Rick Burcham. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Aurora, Indiana.
