Batesville, IN – The Batesville wrestling team competed against the Madison Cubs earlier this week in the first match of the season where everyone was eager to hit the mats.
Even though the Bulldogs couldn’t pull out a win, the loss didn’t come without some good performances and wins. Final score 39-34 in favor of the Cubs.
Max Amberger (285-lbs), John Dirkhising (215), Ryan Ollier (190) and Damien Dance (165) were all winners by pin. Adam Brewer won by decision at 132-lbs., while Carson Weiler claimed a forfeit at 106. Mason Dance was a winner in junior varsity action.
As mentioned before, Max Amberger won by pin at 285-lbs. However, this wasn’t just any other win. This was Amberger’s 100th win on his high school career!
