Batesville, IN – The Batesville Lady Bulldogs hosted the JCD Lady Eagles on Friday Night after a short break for Thanksgiving.
Batesville started off the game hot, scoring 23 in the first quarter and hoisting themselves to 23-13 lead at the end of the quarter.
In the second quarter, both defenses got settled in and scoring was much harder to come by. The Bulldogs still outscored the Eagles, 10-4. They took a 33-17 lead into halftime.
To start the second half, the Bulldogs defense hounded JCD’s offense attack, making them uncomfortable and making it hard to put the ball in the basket. Batesville’s offensive once again found it’s stride and they went on a 20-0 run in the third quarter.
The Lady Bulldogs cruised to victory behind Madelyn Haskamp’s 21 point, 10 rebound, double-double. Sophie Gesell added 12 points and 4 steals and Kaylin Kathmann followed closely with 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Other stats are below!
With this win, Batesville improves to 5-2 on this young season, and will host the Franklin County Wildcats in an EIAC matchup on Thursday, December 5.
