Retired Deputy Passes Away

(Franklin County, IN) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the passing of retired Deputy John Roberts.

He began his career with the sheriff’s office in 2003 and retired in February of this year.

Before his time as a deputy., Roberts served several years as a reserve officer with the Town of Laurel.

As a Franklin County deputy, Roberts’ roles included Chief Deputy, K-9 handler, and firearms instructor.

“Deputy Roberts was the true definition of a public servant and devoted his life to his community and family,” read a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
