Shawe Memorial got past Oldenburg Academy 42-40 in girls basketball action heard last night on WRBI. Elsewhere, Batesville crushed South Dearborn 53-12, South Ripley dumped Waldron 63-37, it was Hauser over Milan 44-39, and Morristown slid past South Decatur 51-47.
Batesville Middle School took both games in the Crosstown Shootout with St. Louis. It was the Bulldog 8th graders over the Cardinals 40-35, while BMS cruised to a 45-6 win in the 7th grade contest.
Oldenburg Academy junior Rachel Suttman and sophomore Ali Nobbe have been named to the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association 1A Central All-District Team.
Batesville senior Will Jaisle made it official and signed a letter of intent yesterday to play baseball at the University of Notre Dame. Jaisle, a righthanded pitcher, is the 11th Bulldog baseball player since 2019 to sign a letter of intent to play college baseball and the the fifth Division 1 commit since 2015.
High school football regional championships take place tonight. Batesville hosts Tri-West in Class 3A.
