Mrs. Olive Elizabeth (Seaver) Weaver, age 103, of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on August 20, 1921 in Ohio County, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Lemuel and Carrie L. (Poston) Seaver. A devoted mother and the beloved matriarch of her family, Olive’s life was a testament to love and dedication. Olive spent her early years in Madison, Indiana, before graduating from Rising Sun High School in 1939. Shortly after, she married Russell Weaver on August 20, 1939, at the Fairview Parsonage embarking on a journey that would see them nurture a loving family together and creating deep roots in the community. As a wonderful homemaker, Olive also served as the bookkeeper for the family dairy farm, balancing her professional responsibilities with her passion for creating a warm home for her children. Olive enjoyed crocheting and cherishing precious moments with her family. She was a long-time member of the East Enterprise Homemakers Extension Club for over 65 years. Her contributions to her community were significant; she was a charter member who played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Aberdeen Community Church formerly known as, Aberdeen United Methodist Church, a combination of the Mt. Carmel and New Hope Churches. Olive is remembered for her contributions to her family and the warmth and love she radiated throughout her life. Olive passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at her residence.
Olive’s memory will live on through the lives of her sons, Franklin Weaver and his wife, Linda of Aberdeen, IN, Larry Weaver and his wife, Linda of Winter Haven, FL, Rodger Weaver and his wife, Phyllis of East Enterprise, IN and John Darryl Weaver and his wife, Brenda of Hanover, IN; her 13-grandchildren, Melody, Troy, Brian, Kyle, Rodney, Scott, Marlene, Russell, Lydia, Adam, Jonathon, Nathan and Alicia; her 31-great-grandchildren; her 5-great-great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Lemuel and Carrie L. (Poston) Seaver, her husband, Russell Burdett Weaver, died April 10, 2001; her granddaughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Hayes; her great-grandson, Trevin Warner; her brothers, Warren, Howard and Joseph Seaver and her sisters-in-law, Helen and Dottie Seaver.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Aberdeen Community Church, 2168 Allensville Road, Rising Sun, Indiana 47040.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Aberdeen Community Church, 2168 Allensville Road, Rising Sun, Indiana 47040.
Interment will be held in the Rising Sun New Cemetery in Rising Sun, Indiana.
