Aurora, IN – The East Central Lady Trojans travelled to South Dearborn last night to open up the young season with a conference foe in the Knights.
The Trojans and Knights went back and forth early, heading into the second quarter in a tight matchup in favor of East Central, 11-9. Before halftime, the Trojans kicked things in gear, outscoring South Dearborn 15-4 in the second quarter, giving them a 26-13 advantage heading into the locker room.
The second half was more of the same, with East Central dominating on both ends of the floor. The Trojans assisted on 16 of 23 FGM and knocked down 5 threes. They also swiped 28 steals and grabbed 12 offensive rebounds.
Kayleigh Meadows led all scoring with 17 pts, 1 reb, and 3 blks. Freshman Natalie Stenger also had an impressive varsity debut, adding 12 pts, 6 rebs, 2 asts, and 4 stls. Senior Anna Black was the third Trojan in double digits with 11 pts.
East Central (1-0) will continue their 2024-25 campaign on Saturday when they host the Richmond Red Devils. The tipoff for that game will be at 7:30 PM.
