William Lowell Shelton Sr., age 77 of Osgood, passed away early Thursday morning at St Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky. He was born in Milan, In on September 6. 1947 the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Johnson) Shelton.
Bill was a graduate of Milan High School Class of 1966. Upon completing high school Bill began his career with BCA in Greensburg and gave them nearly 40 years before their closure in the early 2000’s. He worked a few years for STI also in Greensburg before retiring.
He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, roller skating, hunting, and fishing. He had worked a few years for the roller rink in Milan, and for several years fished opening day of trout season at Brookeville.
Bill had a love for basketball, his Jac-Cen-Del Eagles and Kentucky Wildcats were his favorites. If you have attended a Jac-Cen-Del Girls Basketball game over the last several years, you can be confident Mr. Shelton was in attendance.
He will be missed by his wife Mary (Stockdale) Shelton, daughters; Carrie (Jeff) Dick, Sonia (Greg) Agapie, and Angie (Billy) Brummet, son William (Ashley) Shelton, step children Brandon Palmer, Leslie Palmer, and Angel Palmer, sister Connie Mason, 10 grandkids, and 7 great grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry, and sisters Judy and Ethel.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 28, 2024 from 4-7 pm. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at 10 am., also at Neal’s Funeral Home.
