Oldenburg Academy junior volleyball player Rachel Suttman recorded her 250th career block and 100th of this season against Lanesville in the Edinburgh Tournament championship match on Saturday. She is second in blocks in Class 1A.

In the Major League Baseball playoffs, the New York Mets topped the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-3 in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series, which is tied at one game a piece. Game 3 is tomorrow night in New York. The New York Yankees topped Cleveland 5-2 in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. Game 2 is tonight with the Yankees leading the series one game to none.
On Monday Night Football, the Buffalo Bills got past the New York Jets 23-20.
Kansas is number one in the preseason AP college basketball poll. Alabama is ranked second, followed by two-time defending national champion UConn. Houston and Iowa State round out the top five. The Purdue Boilermakers are 14th; the Indiana Hoosiers hold down the 17th spot; UC is at number 20 and Kentucky is ranked 23rd.
