Oldenburg Academy shut out host Milan 5-Nil to take the Class 1A boys soccer sectional championship in a match heard Saturday night on WRBI. Henry Wanstrath and Connor Holder booted two goals apiece while Hayden Blair added a score for the Twisters, who will host Shawe Memorial in Thursday’s regional semifinal. Also in boys soccer sectional action Saturday, East Central fell to host Center Grove 5-1.

In girls soccer sectional championship action Saturday, OA shut out host Rising Sun 5-Nil. The Twisters will host Monrovia in Wednesday’s regional semifinal. East Central wins the New Palestine 3A sectional by knocking off Greenfield-Central 5-Nil. The Trojans will entertain Franklin Central in the regional semis on Wednesday. And it was Lawrenceburg over South Dearborn 3-Nil in the 3A title game at Batesville.

The Los Angeles Dodgers rolled over the New York Mets 9-0 in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. The Dodgers take a one game to none lead in the best of seven series. Game 2 is this afternoon in L.A. Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between Cleveland and the New York Yankees is set for tonight in the Bronx.
