The Pirates played host to Lawrenceburg in their final EIAC matchup of the season on Saturday. The Pirates fell to the Tigers, 2-1 in double overtime. Lawrenceburg started the scoring in the game’s first ten minutes, but Greensburg was able to find an equalizer before halftime when Ethan Smith found the back of the net off of an assist from a Cy Miller free kick. The Pirates and Tigers battled to a scoreless second half and took a 1-1 tie into OT, where the Tigers were able to find the game-winning goal with nine seconds left in the second overtime period. The loss is the 4th in a row for the Pirates and drops their record to 8-7 and 3-4 EIAC. Greensburg will look to tune up before sectional play starts next week when they play Morristown at 7:30 on Friday.
