Norma Jean (Combs) Goodpaster, 87, of Milan passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Ripley Crossing. Norma was born on Sunday, April 18, 1937, in Whitesburg, Kentucky; daughter of Clayton and Lila May (Cornett) Combs. Norma married Gilbert Goodpaster, and he preceded her in 1998. Norma owned and operated Country Corner Pizza for many years. She was a member of Little Pilgrim Home Church in Milan. She was known as a loving caregiver and loved her family dearly. Norma loved to enjoy the sunshine when she previously lived in Florida. She also would like to watch the World News while she was home.
Norma will be missed by her son Gary (Charlotte) Goodpaster of Milan; brother Charles (Jeanie) Combs of Weisburg; sister Sharon Uribe Combs of Milan; grandchildren James Goodpaster, Valerie Goodpaster, Bill Dixon, Shawn Dixon, and Robyn Williams; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents Clayton and Lila Combs; husband Gilbert Goodpaster; daughters Barbara Gordon and Pamela (Goodpaster) Dixon; son Randy Goodpaster; grandson David Gordon Jr.; great-granddaughter Charlene Haessig; 3 sisters; and 5 brothers.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Norma from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Little Memory Baptist Church: 5709 East County Road 1150 North, Sunman, IN 47041. Services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Charles Combs officiating. Burial will follow at Little Memory Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Norma to Little Pilgrim Home Church.
