(Versailles, IN) – An electric vehicle showcase and ribbon cutting took place Monday at the Ripley County Welcome Center and charging station in Versailles.
Officials say the new charging station is part of a plan to develop and enhance Indiana’s EV infrastructure.
“Indiana is not California, but we are trying to develop something that can be compatible with our other surrounding states, and we can make the Midwest just as robust as anyone else,” said Danielle Hayes with Drive Clean Indiana.
Several state agencies are involved in the initiative spearheaded by Go Electric Vehicle Indiana.
Duke Energy is installing as well as owning and operating 34 fast chargers along major highways across the state, including the one in Versailles.
