Gaylen W. “Bones” Walston, 81, of Lawrenceburg, IN, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024.
He was born June 23, 1943, in Pate, IN, son of the late Harold Walston and Edna (Landwehr) Walston.
Gaylen served country as a member of the United States Air Force.
He worked as a Lot Tech for Riverside Sales, retiring after many years of service.
Gaylen was a member of Aurora Eagles and the Aurora American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and baking. Bones loved to listen to Bluegrass music and attending live Bluegrass concerts. He was a sports man, especially baseball, and football, and he was an avid fan of the Bengals, and the Reds.
Bones is survived by daughter, Gaye Lynn Hall of Aurora, IN; son, Jason Burnell (I-Ning) Walston of Aurora, IN; brother, Merideth Walston of Aurora, IN; granddaughter, Kayla Walston Eubanks of Alabama, Jaden Peeveyhouse and Mia Peeveyhouse of Aurora; great-granddaughters, Aurealia Walston and Jansyn Eubanks. mother of his children and caregiver, Linda Kay Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edna Walston; sister, Delores A Coulter.
Friends will be received Thursday, September 19, 2024, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, at 1:00 pm. Military services will be conducted by the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard following the funeral service.
Interment will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Madison, IN.
