Michael Anthony Biltz, 71, Brookville September 11, 2024 Philips & Meyers Michael Anthony Biltz, aged 71, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away on September 10, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio after a battle with cancer. Born on January 26, 1953, Michael was a beloved member of his community and cherished by all who knew him.Michael dedicated 40 years of his life to education in Franklin County, serving as both a teacher and principal. This career path seemed unlikely at first. Michael was frightened of going to school when he was a new student and getting him in the building was a challenge, but a kindly teacher found a way to get him interested – by getting him involved in the classroom work and with a small trinket reward – a trick he later used himself on students! Beyond his professional life, Michael was an active member of the Brookville town council for many years, contributing to the betterment of his community. He was also involved in Sons of the American Legion and St. Michael the Archangel Church in Brookville and well as many other civic endeavors. In his leisure time he enjoyed walking, the opera, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Biltz, his mother, Jane (Quick) Biltz and his aunt, Mary Rose Quick, and dear friend Ray Amrhein. He was a devoted caregiver for all of them prior to their passing, another example of his limitless love and dedication. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Laura Jo and Glenn Tebbe of Greensburg, Indiana, and their four children: Christopher (Kristy)Tebbe, Benjamin (Adriana) Tebbe, Amanda (Gino) Canessa, and Laura (John) Finke, and 10 great-nieces and nephews. Known affectionately as “Uncle Mike” to the four children, he quickly became “Uncle Mike” to their spouses, great-nieces and great-nephews, but also to their friends and friend’s parents. He could be found on various fields, bleachers and audiences for all 4 nieces and nephews and all 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. And each family member felt loved too in the gifts Uncle Mike chose – specific to things important to them.Family & friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.Rev.
