Beverly Sue (Reynolds) Murphy, 79, of Milan passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Ripley Crossing with her loving family by her side. Beverly was born on Friday, March 23, 1945, in Waynesburg, Kentucky; daughter of Byron and Nola (Wesley) Reynolds. Beverly married the love of her life, Kerry Murphy, on January 30, 1965, and he preceded her on July 2, 2007. Beverly was a member of the Madison Church of Christ where she loved to attend. She worked for a combined 20+ years for Lincoln County High School and Milan High School as a guidance secretary. She was also a writer for the Lincoln County Interior Journal. Beverly enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading. She loved children and had a dedication to babysitting. Beverly also cherished the time she spent traveling with her husband and cousins Rolla and Sandi Hendrickson, and beloved friends Connie Cottingham and Janie Knowlton.
Beverly will be missed by her sons Michael (Molly) Murphy of Zionsville, Patrick (Julie) Murphy of Milan, and Byron “Kelly” (Jennifer) Murphy of Huntingburg, Indiana; brother Byron “Dean” (Barbara) Reynolds of Raleigh, North Carolina; sister Nancy (Condy) Cook of Fort Meyers, Florida; grandchildren Rachel, Allison, Delaney, Devin, Anna, Luke, and Ashlyn; and great-grandchildren Olivia and Meghan.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Byron and Nola Reynolds; husband Kerry Murphy; and brothers Byron Reynolds Jr., Ricky Reynolds, and Robert Reynolds.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Beverly from 4:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. A service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM with Byron Kelly Murphy officiating. Visitation will also be held from 12:00-2:00 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Barnett, Demrow, and Friend Funeral Home; 545 KY Hwy 328 West, Waynesburg, KY 40489. Burial will then follow at Pleasant Point Cemetery in Kings Mountain, Kentucky. Memorials may be given in honor of Beverly to Milan Dollars for Scholars, Alzheimer’s Association, or Lincoln County High School Scholarship Fund.
