Batesville knocked off South Dearborn in boys high school soccer 2-1 last evening in a game heard on WRBI. The Bulldog goals were scored by Ben Hunter and Simon Berkemeier.

The Batesville girls golf team took part in the 21-team field at the Hall of Fame Invitational in Franklin over the weekend. The Bulldogs finished 7th with junior Ava South playing her way on to the all-tournament team by shooting a 72. Last night, it was Center Grove getting past Batesville 168-169. South took medalist honors by carding a 36.

Batesville Middle School volleyball took two from Franklin County. The Bulldogs topped the Wildcats in two games in the 7th grade match; Batesville outlasted Franklin County in the 8th grade contest in three sets.

Greensburg swept St. Louis in middle school volleyball last night in the Tree City. The Pirates won both the 7th and 8th grade matches in two sets.

Batesville Middle School cross country finished 6th out of 14 teams at the Waldron Invitational last night. Cael Luhman led the Bulldogs by placing 10th overall in a time of 11:35. The Batesville girls finished with a 64, which was good for 2nd place behind Greensburg. The Pirates came in with a team score of 49. BMS eighth grader Ava Wade was the girls meet champion with a personal best time of 10:29.

The Reds and Houston Astros resume their three-game series tonight at Great American Ball Park following a rare Tuesday off day. Nick Martinez starts for Cincinnati; he’ll be opposed by Spencer Arrighetti. Coverage begins at 6:10 on 103.9 WRBI.
