(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Fire Department is proud to announce the promotion of Firefighter Christopher Decker Promoted to Lieutenant Firefighter.
Decker has been in the fire service for 18 years and has a distinguished record of service. He has served in various roles, including firefighter, emergency medical technician, and aircraft crash and rescue technician. Christopher also has achieved a commendation for his time in service with the U.S. Air Force.
Throughout his career, Decker has earned numerous professional certifications and qualifications, including firefighter I&II, emergency medical technician, aircraft crash and rescue, D/O crash and rescue, D/O mobile water supply, D/O pumper, D/O aerial, D/O general, fire officer strategy and tactics, fire officer II, incident safety officer, fire inspector I, instructor II, hazardous materials technician, rope rescue technician, and confined space technician.
“Chris’s prior military experience and leadership make him a great fit for the position.” said Fire Chief Brian Hardebeck.
Decker grew up in Sunman and is the son of John and Linda Decker. He is married to Sasha and together they have three children: Brookelynne, Christopher, and Chance. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and helping people.
The Batesville Fire Department congratulates Lieutenant Firefighter Decker on his promotion and looks forward to his continued service to the community.
