(Greensburg, IN) – The City of Greensburg will host an open house and ribbon cutting for the new Municipal Complex on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The ribbon cutting for the street department facility will take place at 11 am, followed by the fire station ribbon cutting at 11:45.
Refreshments and tours of both buildings will be available.
Construction on the new fire station and street department headquarters began shortly a ground was broken in May 2023.
Both buildings went up on 10 acres on a 20-acre parcel of land at the corner of Broadway and Barachel.
The new firehouse will replace Fire Station One on Ireland Street, which was been in service since 1975 and is considered obsolete.
The street department will move out of its current building on Monfort Street, which was built in 1969 and is also considered cramped and out-of-date for current purposes.
$20 million is the project price tag.
