(New Alsace, IN) – No one was injured in a pole barn fire on Schantz Road in the New Alsace area Sunday evening.
It’s not clear what touched off the blaze, which was reported around 8 p.m.
Black smoke could be seen for several miles.
Firefighters from multiple departments, including Sunman, St. Leon and Manchester, responded and put out the flames.
There’s no word on a damage estimate but the structure is reportedly a total loss.
