(Greensburg, IN) – The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) announced IREAD-3 scores for all school corporations in Indiana. Greensburg Elementary School’s 98.0% pass rate ranked ninth in Indiana on the state’s reading exam. The results were tops in Decatur County and in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference, and second overall in Southeastern Indiana.
“This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our entire school community—students, teachers, staff, and families alike,” GES Intermediate Principal Mary Beth Meyer said. “Our students have demonstrated exceptional focus and determination. Our staff has gone above and beyond to ensure every child is supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. This achievement reflects the strength of our community and the bright future ahead for our students.”
Superintendent Tom Hunter echoed those sentiments. “We make early childhood literacy a top priority here at Greensburg Community Schools. I am proud of our administration and faculty’s work in creating lifelong readers. We are happy but never satisfied with these kinds of results. A 98% pass rate on IREAD3 is a testament to the exceptional work we do in our schools each day.”
