(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg School Board has approved the leasing of space at the Greensburg Learning Center on Central Avenue to a company planning to provide childcare.
All 4 Kids currently runs daycare centers in Batesville, Brookville, St. Leon and Lawrenceburg.
Superintendent Tom Hunter says the school corporation and All 4 Kids have been discussing this for several months, and were able to hammer out a lease.
Hunter says, with the Learning Center having available space, All 4 Kids be able to use eight classrooms to provide services to 200 children ranging in age from infant to four years.
He adds this will help address a critical issue throughout Southeastern Indiana.
“Child care is such a huge, huge concern, especially for working class parents,” Hunter said. “We want to be a good community partner and we think this is a way to do that.”
Hunter adds it will not be in competition with other providers in the area.
“There’s plenty of space within Decatur County for childcare providers,” he said.
Facilities will be upgraded to meet the daycare’s needs. These include remodeling plus the addition of extra exits and restrooms in the classrooms.
Several other details have to be worked out before All 4 Kids takes over the space.
The space was previously used primarily for Ivy Tech Community College for adult in-person classes.
