Mary Catherine Waltz, age 93, of Okeana, Ohio died Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Golden Years Nursing Center in Hamilton, Ohio.
Born July 11, 1931 in Franklin County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Edgar F. & Mary J. Thackery. On November 10, 1961 she was united in marriage to John Marvin Waltz and he survives.
A homemaker, she was a member of Old Franklin Methodist Church and had attended Harmony Road Church.
Besides Marvin her husband of over 62 years, survivors include two daughters, Marcia (late, Jackie) Berry of Trenton, Ohio and Amy (Tim) Mullen of Okeana, Ohio; three sons, John Allen (Vicki) Waltz of Hamilton, Ohio, Phillip (Cindy) Brown of Osgood, Indiana and Kenny (Linda) Brown of Belleview, Florida; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Ida Vasquez of Velarde, New Mexico; two brothers, Bill Thackery of Brookville, Indiana and Tom Thackery of Shirley, Indiana.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Brown.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 16, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, burial will then follow in Old Franklin Cemetery in Brookville.
