At the start of a new high school year, the many sports begin along with classes, and one of the early ones has been girls’ golf. Batesville’s Lady Bulldogs opened their campaign Monday, winning the Richmond Invitational.
Their low team score was 313 strokes, significantly ahead of the rest of the field. Barr-Reeve was 2nd with a team total of 375, Richmond 384. East Central finished in 5th place.
The Bulldogs were led by Addy Weiler, who shot an even-par 71. The tournament medalist, Rowan Pies of East Central, fired a 5-under par 66.
