Mrs. Sherry Lee (Call) Smith

Mrs. Sherry Lee (Call) Smith, age 83, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on December 25, 1940 in New Albany, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Hobart Addison and Frankie Lorraine (Cullins) Call. She was raised in New Albany, Indiana and graduated from New Albany High School, class of 1958. Sherry was united in marriage to Wilbur Stanley Smith on July 28, 1958 in New Albany, Indiana. Sherry and Wilbur shared nearly 47 years of marriage together until his passing on March 1, 2005. Sherry was in management for Woolco Department Store in Indianapolis, Indiana, retiring after several years of service. Sherry was a former member of the Daughters of Eastern Star in New Albany, Indiana and enjoyed spending time with her family. Sherry passed away at 10:40 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Gallatin County Nursing & Rehab in Warsaw, Kentucky.

Sherry will be lovingly remembered by her children, Vicky Hinman of Florence, IN, William Smith and his wife, Linda of Florence, IN, Debbie Young of Greenfield, IN and Lori Warren and her husband, Tracy of Greenfield, IN; her grandchildren, Suzanna Dolby, Melina Hill and other grandchildren; her several great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert Call and his wife, Nancy of Avon, IN; her sister-in-law, Cindy Call of Orlando, FL and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart Addison and Frankie Lorraine (Cullins) Call; her daughter, Sheryl Lynn Nicely; her son-in-law, Monty Warren; her grandson, Monty Warren and her brother, William Call.

Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

A Celebration of Sherry’s Life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
