Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Receives AED’s

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department were recently presented with four Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) from the Health Department.

“Seconds matter. Having more AED’s and community members trained on CPR and AED usage will increase the likelihood of saving someone’s life,” said Health Department’s Brittany Luers, RN.

“The plan is to distribute the initial four AED’s on different shifts and rotations,” said Franklin County Sheriff Peter Cates. “We hope to be able to receive enough in the near future to place in each patrol vehicle and transport vehicle,” continued Sheriff Cates.

FCSD would like to thank Nurse Luers and the Health Department for their continued hard work to obtain these valuable life saving devices.

The purchase was made possible through Health First Indiana. For more information on Health First Indiana, visit: https://www.in.gov/healthfirstindiana.
