Mary E. “Bobbie” Rupe, age 97, of West Chester, Ohio, formally Harrison, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in West Chester, Ohio. Born September 1, 1926, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of John D. and Lillian (Hermanson) Gowan.
Mary worked for Nutone in Madisonville for over 37 years. A lifetime member of American Legion Post #199, and a member of St. John United Church of Christ Harrison.
Survived by her loving children Charles W. King, Jr. and Shawn A. (Michael) Salsinger, Grandmother of Chris (Aimee) King, Emma King, Nichole Hoffmeister, and Casey (Kevin) Lester. Great-grandmother of Kaitlyn (Jaykob West) Hoffmeister, Lilli Hoffmeister, Will Hoffmeister, Avery Lester, Sydney Lester, Shelbi (Tim Abdon) King, Jacob King, Olivia King, Emily Garvey, and Corey Harnist. Great-great-grandmother of Jetson and Jorja West, and TJ and Beau Abdon.
Preceded in Death by her parents John and Lillian Gowan, husbands Charles W King, Sr. and Richard Rupe. Siblings Maxine Davis, and Jack Gowan.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:30 A.M, with Pastor Shawn Crisman officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.
