Bruce E. Dalton, 69, of Batesville, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Marysville, Ohio, on November 23, 1954, to Charlie Joe and Shirley (Reams) Dalton.
Bruce graduated from Celina High School (Ohio) and served in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1974 and worked for many years as a quality engineer at Deufol. On September 2, 2011, he married Sandy (Wessel) Dalton, who survives him.
Bruce had a passion for traveling and visiting casinos. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially devoted to football and his beloved Ohio State team. His love for the game was only rivaled by his enthusiasm for sprint car racing, a hobby that brought him immense joy. He was actively involved with both the USAC and BOSS series. Additionally, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Bruce was compassionate and generous, known for his straightforward honesty, always tempered by his genuine care for those around him. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He loved watching his grandkids participate in sports and attending their musical events.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; his children: Brad (Lillie) Dalton of North Vernon, Liana (Andy) McLaughlin of Portland, IN, Sara (Matt Reynolds) Davidson of Milan, Michael (Chelsea) Eckstein of Batesville, and Scott Jackson of Celina, OH; his grandchildren: Jo, Arlie, Abram, Maddie, Luke, Haylee, Nik, Alija, Tailor, Jackson, Evie, Asher, and Ellie; and his best friend, Lou Gagliardi of Pittsburgh, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Mark Dalton and Pat Dalton.
Per Bruce’s request, there will be no services, but a celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks. Memorial contributions can be made to Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series, 2177 Lunbeck Road, Chillicothe, OH 45601
