Linda Jean (Wamsley) Obermeyer, 70, of Batesville passed away on July 26, 2024 at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born in Decatur County Hospital on August 16, 1953, to Robert and Helen (Mozingo) Wamsley.
She is survived by one daughter, Alisha Obermeyer, of Monroe, North Carolina, three brothers: Robert (Virginia) Wamsley of Millhousen, Richard (Nancy) Wamsley of Greensburg, Tim (Shirley) Wamsley of Westport, as well as three sisters, Brenda (William) Robbins of Greensburg, Anita (Gerald) Blankman of Westport, Wanda Gibson of Jeffersonville, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her former husband, Gary Obermeyer.
Linda graduated from South Decatur High School (class of 1971) and worked for Gulf Plastics, Crown Zellerbach, and the Hobo Hut before she began working for the Indiana Department of Transportation where she retired after more than 35 years.
Linda loved to sew and embroider quilts, working on DIY projects around her beloved house on Depot Street, as well as planting flowers and beautifying her house. However, she said that her biggest joy of all was being a mother to her daughter, Alisha.
There will be no funeral services as Linda requested cremation. Memorials may be given to Alisha in care of Meyers Funeral Home.
