Larry B. Stephenson, 82, of Elrod passed away at 12 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2024 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was born in Cincinnati on July 11, 1942, the son of Benjamin and Elaine Kindle Stephenson. Survivors include one brother Ronald Stephenson of Lexington, Indiana; one sister Glenda (Bob) Kelly of Scipio; one nephew Brian Kelly of Scipio and one niece Brianna (David) Crowe of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Stephenson was a 1960 graduate of Versailles High School. He retired from Cummins in 1996 after 35 years working there as an electrician. Larry was a Navy Veteran and had served as an aviation mentor at Jennings County High School. He was a member of the Washington Baptist Church, the NRA, and was also a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, belonging both to the North Vernon Chapter as well as nationally. Funeral services for Larry will be held on Friday, July 26 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Bruce Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will be in the Eastview Cemetery at Patriot. Visitation will also be on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Washington Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
