Reds Continue to Rock the Rockies

CINCINNATI–  After a rain delay of 44 minutes last night, the Reds and Rockies got back on the field at the Ballpark, Cincinnati going on to grab a second straight win, 12-6.

The Reds have now won 7 in a row over Colorado.  Cincy pounded out 4 home runs on the way to the latest victory.  Catcher Tyler Stephenson did it with a solo shot in the 2nd.  Later that inning, Will Benson sent a 3-run blast out of the park to make the score 5-0.  In the 7th, after the rain, Rece Hinds hit his second homer in as many nights, and Spencer Steer hit a 2-run dinger that same inning.

Hinds also hit a double and a triple in the game, and Stephenson added a pair of doubles, crossing home plate to score 3 times.  Hinds, just called up from the minors this week, has made the most of his opportunity, having a 2nd straight incredible night, and he’s now forever in the record books, as the first player in major-league history to ever get 5 extra-base hits in his first 2 big-league games.

Tonight, Frankie Montas takes the mound for Cincinnati.  He’s 4 & 6 this season, with a 4.19 ERA. 0 & 3 lefty Kyle Freeland starts for Colorado, with an ERA of 6.62.  The broadcast comes to you on WRBI beginning at 6:40.
