Arthur AmRhein, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024 at Aspen Place. He was born on December 26, 1938. Art lived his entire life in Greensburg, and graduated from Greensburg High School. He may be remembered for his time spent working at Tree City Beverage, Herman Construction, and BCA, where he eventually retired. He was known by some as “Art the Fart”.
Art enjoyed playing golf at Wyaloosing Creek Golf Course. Another love of his was watching IU basketball, the Colts, the Reds, and any racing events. Art spent many afternoons drinking beverages at the Eagles or the Legion, talking over sports with his friends. He grew gardens that flourished and had very little weeds. In his younger years, Art played softball and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved animals, especially his dogs, Charlie and Lady.
Art is survived by his daughters, Sandi (Jeff) Beier and Pam Sanders; grandchildren, Brandon Sallee, Aaron Biltz, and Charlie Sanders; and great grandchildren, Chloe Duenhoft, Dalton Sallee, Hazel Sallee, Austin Sanders, Waylon Sanders, and Collin Biltz.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil AmRhein and Mildred (AmRhein) Berkemeier.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. The memorial service to honor and remember Art will be held at 6:30pm, also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Keisha Boyce Memorial in memory of Art.
