Hoeing Back On the Mound in the Majors- Starts for Marlins Tonight

Stories that had seemed at first to be just speculation have now been confirmed, and they’re good news for past Batesville Bulldog baseball star Bryan Hoeing.

MLB.com was first to report that Hoeing was to be taken off the 15-day injured list today, and he has been.  That story also indicated he’d be starting for the Marlins against the White Sox tonight, and he is.  Hoeing had spent a couple weeks on the injured list, rehabbing an injured left hamstring while pitching for the Marlins’ Triple-A squad, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.  Adding to how important tonight’s performance may be, CBS Sports now notes Hoeing’s been used as a starter quite a bit in the past, but this year so far had only been a reliever, except for a single-inning start during his rehab assignment.

Over the weekend in Jacksonville, Bryan threw 49 pitches over a couple innings.  It isn’t yet clear whether tonight will be a one-time deal, or if Hoeing might soon make more starts for the Marlins.
